What motivated you to join the advisory board for this initiative?
My motivation comes from knowing that future generations should not experience substance abuse and trauma at the rate current generations are experiencing them.
How can community members and organizations support and amplify the goals of this initiative?
Community members and organizations can support the goals of this initiative by working with youth. If you don’t know how to work with youth, then you won’t be successful in improving the world for future generations. Work with youth you usually wouldn't think to work with; the world is becoming more and more diverse, so you have to learn how to be comfortable working with a diverse group of youth and young adults.
What advice would you give to adults who are working with youth around behavioral health and substance use?
I would tell them that when you think youth are not capable of something, ask them first. You would be surprised what youth can handle.
Finish this sentence: "Recovery is . . ."
Recovery is having what you need to thrive in this world as your true full self.
